Greetings to Partners in Training and Education: I am writing to you on behalf of Westover Treatment Centre in Thamesville, Ontario to request your participation in an online survey through "survey monkey". The Link below will bring you to a 10 question survey (10mins max) regarding a proposed multidisciplinary internship training program at Westover, which is currently at the planning stage. As a Teaching Supervisor in three different disciplines - pastoral education, marriage and family therapy, and addiction - I have been asked to survey students and employees currently working in their respective fields about their needs and barriers to accessing on-site training in addictions from an interprofessional, multidisciplinary perspective. The internship program I am planning will also i nvolve supervisors in social work, and physician and nursing consultants from the health delivery service area. The focus and context however, will be on addiction work in a residential setting. There will be an academic, interpersonal integration and practice delivery component to the program, similar to that provided in alternative institutional settings. I am interested in partnering with educational institutions and professional organizations which would value and credit this program as a field placement module or as a credit towards certification in one of the above fields.
