At Westover we do our absolute best to ensure that clients have a meaningful and successful stay with us. Without the help of the community we would not be able to provide the high level of care that we do. We at Westover would like to thank those who have given their time and finanical contributions in order to help our clients in their "Discovery to Recovery." Westover Foundation is committed to assisting donors in structuring their gifts to meet their personal objectives and ensuring the maximum tax credit available. Planned giving, because of its flexibility and tax advantages, is increasingly the giving option of choice. We welcome and encourage donations of all kinds ~ life insurance, bequests, property, cash, securities, memorial donations and gifts-in-kind. Donate to Westover Memorial The most common type of gift that we receive, unsolicited, is the memorial gift. When a loved one passes away, people may send a gift in memory of that person. Often, it is done in lieu of flowers, as requested by the family in the newspaper obituary. These gifts may be made here, at this site, quickly and effortlessly. Tax receipts are issued with all gifts, regardless of size. Upon notification of your gift we will send a card to the family of your loved one acknowledging your rememberence. Gifts of Cash Gifts of cash can be designated for a specific program or project, or they can be unrestricted. Donations without restrictions allow us to respond quickly to new ideas, initiatives and needs. For your convenience one time gifts can be made by credit card by clicking on the Canada Helps link in the frame to the right. Or should you decide you want to make regular monthly gifts they can be deducted automatically from your bank account. Contact Westover for more information and for a Pre-authorized withdrawl form. Gifts-In-Kind These gifts take many forms, such as equipment, art, books, real estate, services, stocks and bonds. Endowment Funds Endowment funds can be established with a minimum investment of $10,000. Funds are established in perpetuity to meet long term needs. With an endowment gift only the interest is used by Westover ensuring your gift is one that gives forever. Planned Giving Planned gifts are generally gifts from one's assets that occur on death. They are also flexible arrangements and can be designed to provide lifelong income to donors, while generating gift receipts and significant income tax benefits now. Planned gifts range from bequests of appreciated property to balances of RRSPs or RRIFs. Bequests Often referred to as "deferred gifts" or estate gifts, bequests are specified in a donor's will. A bequest can be a designated amount or a residual gift as a percentate of the estate. Charitable Life Insurance A life insurance policy naming Westover Foundation as the owner and beneficiary allows the donor to make a significant future gift to the Westover Treatment Centre for only pennies on the dollar and provides substantial tax benefits.
